Visa Info Session at McGill University

McGill students listen to presenters.

The U.S. wants to ensure international students know what is needed to visit the United States. Those at McGill University recently got a chance to have their visa questions answered by two Consular officers. Students from different parts of the world learned how to apply for visas, which kind of visa is required for different situations, how long they can stay in the United States, how long visas are valid for, and more. The presence of U.S. Consular officials who work on these issues every day really helped students know what to expect when they apply for a visa and the common mistakes people make when applying.

We also made a short presentation on study opportunities in the United States. The EducationUSA website provides practical information on how to navigate the application process to U.S. colleges and universities, and how to apply for scholarships and financial aid.
