Over 400 regulators and stakeholders from the United States and Canada participated in the U.S.-Canada Regulatory Cooperation Council’s (RCC) annual meetings held May 4-5, 2016 in Washington, D.C. Stakeholder participation was robust as agencies such as EPA, DOT, NOAA, USDA, DOE, and OSHA discussed regulatory cooperation with their Canadian counterparts. The thematic sessions explored regulations in over twenty sectors, including: crop protection, work place chemicals, food safety, energy efficiency, transport of dangerous goods, aquaculture, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and connected vehicles. The forward-looking RCC meetings helped to identify opportunities for regulatory cooperation and inform the development of annual work plans to be published in early summer.
