Last week, the Embassy hosted students, alumni and educators at an official kick-off of the 2014 Youth Ambassador Program.
Eighteen Canadian students and three adult educators will be travling to the United States for a three-week visit, during which they they will have the opportunity to explore the themes of civic education, community service, youth leadership development and entrepreneurship. Before departing, they were visiting the Embassy to receive orientation and instruction from representatives of the Embassy, as well as from the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Plattsburgh, and Fulbright Canada.
During their visit, Youth Ambassadors also met with other State Department alumni, and had the opportunity to learn from and share their community engagement experiences.
After leaving Ottawa, the Ambassadors were first traveling to Plattsburgh, Hyde Park and New York City, NY. They will wind up the program in Washington, D.C. on August 10.
