U.S. Consul Anthony Pagliai Begins Posting in Winnipeg
Anthony (Tony) Pagliai arrived in Winnipeg to assume the post of Consul and Principal Officer at the United States Consulate. His primary responsibility is to advance the interests and goals of the United States to the people of Manitoba, and report local views and issues to the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa and to the Department of State in Washington, D.C. His expected tour of duty is three years.
Mr. Pagliai is a career diplomat whose previous foreign postings include Tanzania, Thailand, the Bahamas and Mexico. Tony was born and reared in Florida. He is a proud Gator, having earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in History from the University of Florida. He speaks Spanish and Thai.
Tony is married to Dr. Geneva Pagliai, who was born and raised in Winnipeg. They have two children, one of whom was born in St. Boniface Hospital.
