U.S. Ambassador to Canada David L. Cohen welcomes Greater Philadelphia Trade Delegation to Ottawa

OTTAWA – U.S. Ambassador to Canada David L. Cohen is excited to welcome on July 19 a delegation of business leaders to Ottawa from his hometown of Philadelphia. The Greater Philadelphia Trade Visit to Canada – coordinated by U.S. Embassy Ottawa and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia – is made up of more than 50 diverse entrepreneurs and business owners. The delegation will also be joined by a string quartet from The Philadelphia Orchestra.

The delegation aims to build enduring business ties and networks between U.S. and Canadian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to expand trade; grow the number of women-owned, minority-owned, and Indigenous-owned businesses exporting to Canada and the United States; and strengthen people-to-people and cultural ties through performances by The Philadelphia Orchestra string quartet.

“I am thrilled to connect this distinguished group of diverse business leaders from my hometown of Philadelphia with their equally impressive Canadian counterparts,” said Ambassador Cohen. “This visit is a great example of our shared commitment under the Roadmap for a Renewed U.S.-Canada Partnership to building back better. By better, we mean to emphasize the importance of fully including small- and medium-sized enterprises – especially those owned by women, people of color, Indigenous peoples, and other underrepresented groups in a more inclusive economy on both sides of the border.”
