North American energy independence is a topic often dissected in the news these days so the U.S. Consulate General in Toronto hosted a roundtable discussion on the matter. American speakers were brought to Canada as part of a larger full-day conference put on by the University of Toronto titled Fueling the Future.
A professor from George Washington University (GWU), Robert Orttung, and the Interim Director of the Center for Sustainable Shale Development (CSSD), Andrew Place, participated in the roundtable discussion with guests from various private organizations, environmental charities and provincial government departments.
After the discussion, both gentlemen sat down with Public Affairs Officer Scott Walker for podcasts on their expertise. Click here for a conversation with GWU’s Robert Orttung and here for CSSD’s Andrew Place’s podcast.
