Toronto Consulate Launches U.S.-Canada Toronto Alumni Advisory Council

As part of U.S. Consulate General Toronto’s ongoing efforts to expand engagement with Department of State exchange alumni, the Consulate launched the U.S. – Canada Toronto Alumni Advisory Council at the Consul General Juan Alsace’s residence on June 2, 2017. Comprising 12 alumni in total, the Council includes former participants from the International Visitor Leadership Program, the Fulbright Scholarship Program, and the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. Members of the Council will act as advisors who, through their expertise, can give the U.S. Consulate and high-level U.S. Government visitors a more comprehensive view of public opinion through a range of platforms, including meetings, briefings, panels, and representational events. Integrating exchange alumni within the work of the Consulate is key to cultivating a solid two-way partnership with alumni and for increasing their participation at events. The Council will work together to amplify U.S. policy, identify ways to engage the dormant alumni in the district, and to expand ongoing efforts to cultivate alumni.
