U.S. Consulate Winnipeg was proud to partner with the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre to bring renowned U.S. expert on Tennessee Williams, Dr. Robert Bray, to Winnipeg February 19-22. Dr. Bray’s visit coincided with RMTC’s production of Tennessee Williams’ classic play, The Glass Menagerie, which runs from February 13 – March 1. During his visit to Winnipeg, Dr. Bray did a number of public appearances and events on the theme of “The Life and Times of Tennessee Williams”, including a pre-show discussion at the RMTC, round-table discussion with local directors and playwrights, and a public presentation at McNally Robinson bookstore. He also made media appearances at the Winnipeg Free Press News Café and CJOB Radio’s The Nighthawk. Dr. Bray’s visit was made possible through a grant from U.S. Embassy Ottawa’s Public Affairs section.

More information about RMTC’s production of The Glass Menagerie is available on their website.

The U.S. Consulate also partnered with RMTC on their 2013 production of Gone with the Wind.
