U.S. Ambassador to Canada Bruce A. Heyman today issued the following statement regarding the passage of legislation addressing country of origin labeling:
“Today, President Obama signed legislation addressing Canada and Mexico’s concerns regarding country of origin labeling for beef and pork. This legislation brings the United States into compliance with WTO rules and represents the end to this longstanding dispute.
“I look forward to continuing to work with our Canadian counterparts on expanding the U.S.-Canada trade and investment relationship, the largest in the world.”
