Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Planned Demonstration in Ottawa

The U.S. Embassy in Ottawa informs U.S. citizens of a possible demonstration near the U.S. Embassy on the MacKenzie Avenue side on April 8, 2017, from approximately 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. Public Order officials are aware of the demonstration and will be on site.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  Avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
