The U.S. Consulate General Calgary informs U.S. citizens of demonstrations scheduled to take place outside of Calgary City Hall on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A visible police presence with street closures and traffic congestion is likely.  The Consulate has advised its employees to avoid the area during the time of the demonstration and recommends U.S. citizens do the same.

Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.  Avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
