Location:  Portapique, Nova Scotia, Canada 

Event:  Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are investigating an active shooter event in Portapique, Nova Scotia, on Sunday, April 19. The public is asked to avoid Portapique Beach Road, Bay Shore Road, Five Houses Road, and the surrounding areas and stay in their homes with doors locked at this time for their safety.  Please follow instructions from local authorities and monitor local media for updates.

  • Avoid the Portapique Beach Road, Bay Shore Road, Five Houses Road, and surrounding areas.
  • Remain at home with doors locked.
  • Keep a low profile and be aware of your surroundings.
  • Review your personal security plans.
  • Follow instructions from local authorities and monitor local media.
  • Stay alert in public places, including schools, hospitals, churches, tourist locations, and transportation hubs.
