If you’re looking at a map and want to circle a city to visit you might pick Indianapolis – and not only because it’s called Circle City. Nicknamed for the great downtown ring called Monument Circle, the city is steeped in history and making history. With a storied past and an exciting present, Indianapolis is firmly on the map with its vroom vroom Indy 500 and multitude of museums and restaurants. It’s the second last city we’ll showcase on our microsite featuring places in the Great Lakes States and it’s worth the wait.

War buffs can visit myriad monuments and those interested in African-American history will be impressed to know that the city produced the first female self-made millionaire (no, not Oprah). And with the airport only 15 minutes from the downtown core, getting there and getting around is easy.
