Location:  Alaska Highway in Northern British Columbia.

Event:  The Alaska Highway is closed in both directions between Coal River and the British Columbia/Yukon border because of wildfires.  The nearby community of Lower Post, British Columbia has been ordered to evacuate.

Actions to Take: 

  • Avoid travel in the area.
  • Monitor local news for updates.
  • Carry emergency preparedness kit in vehicle.
