To mark Oceans Day 2015, the U.S. Consulate General Halifax invited high schools from across Atlantic Canada to submit entries to an Oceans Day poster contest. The judging panel was challenged to choose the top three entries that best portrayed an image and message that summed up the importance of the world’s oceans and our responsibility to protect them. As Atlantic Canada is surrounded by ocean, it is not surprising that the entries were well thought out and beautiful.
The top three winners were from Cape Breton, NS. Congratulations to our first place winner, Dante Samson from Richmond Education Centre; our second place winner, Maggie Berk from Baddeck Academy; and our third place winner, Liam Nicholson also from Baddeck Academy.
