On January 9 and 10, Esther Brimmer, former Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, was in Montreal to participate in a series of conferences.

On January 9, she first spoke at a lunch organized by Connexion internationale de Montréal, a new group of recent graduates and young professionals interested in international relations. Later that evening, she was the keynote speaker at a conference organized by the University of Quebec at Montreal’s Institut d’études internationales de Montréal.

Finally, On January 10, Dr. Brimmer spoke at a talk organized by Concordia University’s Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies. During her brief visit to Montreal, she was able to discuss the topic of U.S. foreign policy with audiences composed of former and current diplomats, politicians, business people, students and professors.

Consul General Andrew Parker as well as Political Economic Specialist Marie-Hélène Lafond had the pleasure of introducing Dr. Brimmer at her public events in Montreal. We wish to thank our partners – Connexion internationale de Montréal, the Institut d’études internationales de Montréal and the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies – for extending such a warm welcome to former Assistant Secretary Brimmer.
