The Consulate welcomed a group of students from Duke University who are studying public policy, marketing, and French. Consul General Hale VanKoughnett and Consular Officer Stuart Wilson discussed the role of the Consulate and the life of a diplomat in light of their own experiences in the Foreign Service.

As part of “Duke in Montréal,” a program led by Deb Reisinger, the group is visiting Montreal and Quebec to explore cultural identity in both francophone cities. Duke in Montréal is a four-week, one-course program that includes excursions to museums, markets, companies, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Quebec City in order to explore the relationship between marketing and cultural identity.
