Representatives from Connecticut visited Toronto this week to give the city a sampling of their tasty treats and wonderful tourism spots and take Canadian minds off their long cold winter. The Toronto office of the U.S. Commercial Service worked with the state’s government, food and tourism industry to put together a great one-stop-shop of all things Connecticut.

Samples of local Connecticut beer brews were on hand at a Monday event, as was tasty traditional clam chowder and many tables loaded with colorful brochures on where to visit in the state and what to eat while you’re there.

U.S. Congressman Joe Courtney spoke about the tastes and sights of his state, and U.S. Consul General to Toronto Jim Dickmeyer mentioned spending time there in his early twenties and his joy at discovering there are now wine trails for thirsty travelers.

The state is snuggled nicely between New York City and Boston and with 100 miles of shoreline, wine trails and historic seaports it’s a great place to visit and not too far from Ontario. Art galleries lure in the budding Norman Rockwells and golf courses number close to 150 so don’t fore-get to visit one or two! Click here to learn more.
