CNO Addresses Defence and Security Conference

Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Jonathan Greenert speaks at the Ottawa Conference on Defence and Security.

Last night in Ottawa, Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Admiral Jonathan Greenert addressed current and former Canadian military and defense industry leadership at the Ottawa Conference on Defence and Security. In his remarks, he spoke about the status of the Navy and the importance of maritime coalitions. Greenert also took specific questions from the audience about the Canadian-U.S. maritime alliance and what the two can do to better compliment each other.

(I) was honored today to speak at the Ottawa Conference on Defense and Security about the importance of seapower, our partnership with Canada and the Asia-Pacific Rebalance,” Admiral Greenert wrote on Facebook. “It was great to be with my counterpart VADM Mark Norman, defense leaders and experts from the U.S. and Canada. Together we share a border and have common maritime security interests. Maritime security is indeed a team sport and I look forward to continuing and expanding our relationship with the Royal Canadian Navy. Special thanks to all who made today’s event a success.”
