Canadian Students to Explore Digital Citizenship and Social Inclusion during Virtual 2021 Youth Ambassadors Program
OTTAWA – The United States Embassy in Ottawa, in partnership with World Learning and Fulbright Canada, is pleased to announce the selection of 18 outstanding Canadian youth community leaders for the virtual 2021 Youth Ambassadors Program.
The selected participants hail from across Canada. They earned a place in the Youth Ambassadors Program through an open competition, based on their proven commitment to leadership and community involvement.
The Youth Ambassadors program has adapted to the ongoing pandemic by transforming into a completely virtual experience featuring four learning modules and a digital homestay. Participants will explore leadership in action; digital citizenship; intercultural communication; and experience a virtual homestay in the city of Denver, Colorado. Their program began in June with a virtual orientation by U.S. Embassy Ottawa. Following the program, Youth Ambassadors will design and implement follow-on service projects in their schools and communities.
The 2021 cohort of Canadian Youth Ambassadors includes participants from:
- Calgary, Alberta
- Abbotsford, British Columbia
- Richmond, British Columbia
- Vancouver, British Columbia

- Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia
