Mayor John Tory, Ambassador Bruce Heyman and Sam Sebastian, the Managing Director of Google Canada, provided the opening addresses at Going Global: Toronto-Chicago, an international business development forum organized by INcubes Inc. on January 15, 2015.
“Both cities can boast leading centers of academic and business excellence, and a civic environment,” said Ambassador Heyman during his keynote speech. “Economic partnerships in North America are important way to continue growing our economies.” The event was co-sponsored by the Toronto business incubator, INcubes, and the Chicago business incubator, 1871 Chicago. The program featured business pitches from nine companies – six from Chicago, Toronto’s Sister City, and three from Toronto – that are prepared to expand internationally and hoping that audience members might potentially invest or partner with them.
