
Lawrence Wilkerson, Distinguished Visiting Professor of Government and Public Policy at the College of William Mary, and former Chief of Staff to U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, recently visited Canada as part of the U.S. Consulate’s 2014 Midterm Election speaker series. He conducted presentations for Canadian students and the general public on the upcoming U.S. midterm elections and U.S. foreign affairs throughout his visit as well as was interviewed by a number of media outlets, including the Toronto Star.
During his visits to Toronto and Waterloo on October 08-09th, 2014, Professor Wilkerson participated in the Colloquium Series of the Glendon School of Public and International Affairs, F. Ross Johnson – Connaught Speaker Series of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Balsillie School of International Affairs’ Guest Lecturer Series. He also spoke to the general public of more than hundred people at the International Governance Innovation (CIGI) Signature Lecture series in Waterloo with the lecture titled The Travails of Empire. Each of his lectures was followed by the Q and A session, during which the students and the guests had an opportunity discuss variety of issues with Professor Wilkerson, including those on midterm elections, U.S. foreign affairs, climate change, etc.
