The United States Consulate General’s Foreign Commercial Service hosted the largest international pavilion at the 2014 Global Petroleum Show from June 10-12 in Calgary. The U.S. pavilion included 102 companies from 24 states, 8 of which hosted their own delegations. The total U.S. pavilion was part of 402 U.S. companies and over 2,000 total exhibitors at this year’s show.
“Canada and the U.S. have the largest trade relationship between two countries in the history of the world. Every day, we hear from U.S. firms looking for help in entering the Western Canadian market,” says Cindy Biggs, U.S. Commercial Attaché for Western Canada.
The U.S firms participated in a business briefing featuring remarks by U.S. Consul General Peter Kujawinski, presentations on doing business in Canada including trade, finance and taxation, business, law, identifying partners and emerging opportunities as well as a networking rodeo where companies were able to unwind and experience firsthand, a traditional western rodeo.
The U.S. Foreign Commercial service assists American companies seeking to increase trade with Canadian businesses and customers as well as identify joint venture partners, agents and distributors. For more information, click here.
